Rent

How much can my landlord raise rent in Texas?

There's no limit. Texas has no rent control, and state law bars cities from enacting it except in a declared housing emergency. During a fixed-term lease the rent can't change, but at renewal or on a month-to-month tenancy a landlord can raise it by any amount with proper notice.

Your protection in Texas is the lease: the rent is locked for the term, and a month-to-month increase requires advance written notice (commonly 30 days, or whatever the lease states).
