What is the security deposit limit in Texas?
Texas sets no cap on the deposit amount. The landlord must refund the deposit within 30 days of you surrendering the unit and giving a forwarding address. A landlord who keeps it in bad faith can owe three times the wrongfully withheld amount plus $100 and attorney's fees.
