When do I get my security deposit back in Alberta?
Generally within 10 days of moving out, your landlord must either return the deposit (with interest) or give you a written statement of any deductions along with the remaining balance. Deductions are only allowed for unpaid rent or damage beyond normal wear and tear.

If you disagree with a deduction, ask for the itemized statement and file a claim through the RTDRS or Provincial Court. Move-out photos and the inspection report are strong evidence.
