Can my landlord evict me without a reason in Alberta?
For a periodic tenancy, a landlord can end it for specified reasons (like moving in, major renovation, or sale to an occupying buyer) with the required notice — usually 90 days. For non-payment or a substantial breach, shorter notice applies. Only a court order and a bailiff can actually remove you.

A fixed-term lease simply ends on its last day. In all cases, a landlord can't lock you out or remove your belongings without an order from the RTDRS or the Court.
