How long does an eviction take in Ontario?
Usually several months. The landlord must first serve the correct notice, then apply to the LTB, wait for a hearing, and obtain an order — and only the Sheriff can actually enforce it. Backlogs at the LTB have made the process take many months in recent years.

You cannot be removed the day a notice expires. Each stage has its own timeline, and you have the right to a hearing and to respond before any eviction order is made or enforced.
