How much can my landlord raise my rent in Manitoba?

For most units, no more than the annual rent increase guideline — 1.8% for 2026 — once every 12 months, with at least three months' written notice. Some newer buildings and higher-rent units are exempt from the guideline.

A landlord who wants more than the guideline must apply to the Residential Tenancies Branch and justify it. You can object, and shouldn't pay above the guideline unless it's approved.
