Notice of Rent Increase

Form N1 is how a landlord must tell you about a rent increase. It states your current rent, the new rent, the increase, and the date it takes effect.

For rent-controlled units the increase can't exceed the year's guideline (2.1% for 2026) without LTB approval. You must get at least 90 days' written notice, and rent can only rise once every 12 months.
